Bluetooth audio stuttering on Sierra

Not exclusive to MacBook Pro. I have it on my iMac too.

Capt. Planet, those settings did not work for me, but it was very helpful to learn how to use the command line interface to manipulate those settings, thanks!

For me, unpairing my Bluetooth device and then pairing it again worked.

Resetting the bluetooth module using the hidden Shift-Option-BluetoothMenu fixed the bluetooth audio stuttering problem for my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) with MacOS Sierra 10.12.3.

A solution that has worked for me is to open Sound Preferences and on the Input Tab double-click on Internal Microphone so it is set to Built-In. Immediately solved my problem.

Thanks! I'm having the same issue occasionally with my Philips SHB7150FB headphones. Simply disconnecting and re-connecting them helps.

Mine finally corrected after turning off bluetooth, turning off wifi, then turning bluetooth back on and connecting headphones. Then I could turn on Wifi and bluetooth remained clear.

Correction , it might have helped a little. If I continue to have problems I will try and completely reset bluetooth.

Turning off "Allow Handoff" in general settings seemed to work for me as well. I don't have an iPhone so this is an ok solution for me. If I had an iphone I would probably not want to disable this.

Sam issue as soon as I upgraded to Sierra. Same bluetooth device streams without issue on iphone6 and iPad Air2, only when using my iMac does this happen. Re-pairing does not solve.

That did the trick for me!
(Don't forget to reboot after resetting the Bluetooth module.)
