iphone voicemail issues iOS 10

I did a hard reboot (hold sleep and lower vol buttons at same time) thinking it might work, but it didn't.

I wonder why VM worked earlier?

Is VM waking a sleeping iPhone 7 for anyone out there??? If so, are you using passcode with finger print access?

I have 10.3.2 and there is no other available update. I have 51 unread voicemails. It's taking me hours to get through a few at a time.

This is really making me want to replace my iPhone with a real smart phone- one that you can still make and receive phone calls on like the old days!

Apple is dragging its feet and people who paid a lot for their phones are suffering needlessly.

My iPhone 6s Plus voicemail has been doing the same thing, but I think I figured out how to fix it! In settings under cellular, click on it, then go to cellular Data, and if your Cellular Data button is in the on positions the visual voicemail comes right back on and works great, but if the cell data button is in off position, the visual voicemail does not perform well if at all! Thank you for the information! That did not help me however, I have cellular data on already. I turned it off and then back on just in case that might help. I still have 54 unheard voice messages!!

For what it is worth, I think that it is probably a carrier issue. After countless months, the problem has stopped on my phone with Rogers in Canada (running iOS 10.3.2), so if you're still having the problem and running the same iOS, my guess is that it's not apple. Of course, neither the carrier nor apple stepped up to admit it....

Have the same problem with IPhone 5.

Same problem iPhone 6. Very annoying. Notifications also will show voicemail and then it's not there. Bad for my business.

Same issue with me. Please advise on the fix.

I have exactly the same problem seems to be an iOS10 issue.

I Have the same issue, voicemail is usually non-functional and it's company phone with AT&T. it was fine before ios10.

This had been bugging me for some time.

I Own a small tech business in Stuart FL and now have run into 4 People with the same issue. All started with iOS 10.

3 on AT&T (including myself) and 1 on Verizon. I had the same issue on AT&T with a iPhone 6s. Called AT&T and they of course transferred me over to Apple care. Spoke with a real Nice Gal !! She made me do a hard reset of the phone. (DID NOT ERASE ANY DATA) Holding down the sleep wake button and the Home button until I saw the Apple Logo. Waited for the phone to reboot. Visual voicemail was TEMPORARILY fixed. Issue started to reoccur. Then had to Call AT&T tech support Back. Went through a process of completely deleting all of my voice mail messages and the AT&T Tech reset my voicemail completely, same issue still happening. Please please is there is someone out there that has a fix for this let me know. All 3 People I have spoke with are upset over the difficulty of this issue. 2 of the people thought their phones were shot and needed to replace them until we all had a conversation about the same issue. Hard to work with Voice mail. I am SURE there are many others out there with the same issue. PLEASE HELP. Thank you!

I don't know about you, but it's gotten worse for me in the past week or so.

I think has something to do with transcription service. I'd love to turn this off - especially since it describes itself as being in beta - but can't find how.

Note: since when are you put into a beta program without asking?
