Has anyone checked their console for crash logs associated with this problem? On my machine I can see several kernel crash logs about the GPU having trouble at the exact moment of the problem and then finally the window manager crashes and that is what actually causes you to be logged out. Anyone in contact with apple support directly over this and not just posting to the forum should definitely collect those and send them to Apple. That will reveal to them what is actually causing it. We’re all dancing around it here, yes it’s related to the voodoo that you’re doing, but not directly. Under the hood those crash logs will get them the info that they actually need.

Had this issue happen again today so I thought I would try uninstalling the Cable Matters driver for USB 3.0 to HDMI driver I use for my third screen. So far things appear to be much more stable and smooth. I'll post an update if I end up having the "logout" issue happen again after I've done this.

Yes. I've sent comprehensive logs to Apple (500 MB of them), twice, including specific logs showing WindowServer crashes (possibly related to GPU issues). I posted about my last communication with Apple Support. I posted previously that installing "Little Snitch" (not the program but something in the installation, the log of which I also sent to Apple Support) worked to resolve my "fullscreen-space switch-crash to login window problem," and that fix is still working. However, it clearly doesn't work, or stick, for everyone. Apple believes this may be a permissions problem, is aware this is an issue for many users, and has promised a fix, though I certainly haven't seen one yet. I suspect it will be built into 10.12.1. Fingers crossed.

Hello !

I have read your post and issue seems with you are logged out while using safari .

To sort out the issue it is recommended not to use any anti virus , third party software , Firefox in the system as they create more issues .

Please click on go to go folder & type ~/Library , remove the contents ( you can use command + A ) to select all of the contents of caches , cookies , saved application state , safari ( except book marks ) , application support , logs , what is in launch agents ?

make sure internet plug -ins , input methods are empty .

In, your second screen shot , make sure the second option require admin password to access system wide preferences should be checked in , also the option log out after ... minutes of inactivity is optional , and you select this check box , if you are away from system and you choose 5 min ( just an example ) the system will automatically log out after 5 min .

Make sure , you have latest adobe flash player version installed on the system , click on updates in adobe flash player .

Open safari , safari preferences under security > check the box allow WEBGL , click on WEBGL settings choose as ask when visiting other websites .

Select the box allow plugins , click on plug - in settings select the box for adobe flash player & choose as on , in share point browser plugin select the box , and choose as on , when visiting other websites as on or ask .

Finally click on done .

Also in the mission control settings as in screen shot of yours settings are not done .

Please do the settings as :

I agree with you. I have had so many problems with Apple. Don't know why I keep using their products. My computer drops the internet at random times. It always does when I am in a webinar taking a class. Or looking up airline tickets or anything of importance. So frustrating. My trackpad is always dropped and can't be used. Taking my Mac to a Genius Bar two hours away is difficult. Anybody have any idea when there might be a fix-it solution? Soon I am going to have no hair left and my grandkids are going to learn all the bad words I know.

There is no universal fix at this point. 😟 The problem primarily involves crashing to the login screen when going to fullscreen for apps, or video (including in iTunes), or animating between Spaces. There appear to be variations as well so we don't all have exactly the same problem.

A variety of fixes have worked for some people, some permanently and some temporarily.

Installing a program called Little Snitch permanently, so far (several weeks of heavy use), resolved the problem for me, due to something Little Snitch did during installation (not the program itself), though I don't know what that was. Several others have reported success with this, but many others have reported no success. I have worked with Apple Support on this issue for weeks, sending them multiple logs, and they do seem to acknowledge that this is an issue. I was promised a "hot fix" a few weeks ago but haven't seen anything yet. Perhaps it will be fixed in 10.12.1.

For people who've had the problem exclusively with Chrome, turning off hardware acceleration in Advanced Preferences seems to be a fix. It was first posted on Reddit.

DuetDisplay has known conflicts with MacOS Sierra. If you have DuetDisplay, which lets you use your iPad as a separate display, you may want to look into this.

I've also seen fixes posted that are related to Razer products and other third-party hardware and drivers as well. The problem does not, however, appear to be limited to a particular Mac—iMac vs MacBook vs. MacBook Pro—or configuration.

One of the things to try is to create a "test" admin account. If the problem does not occur in the "test" account, that would be consistent with others who have this problem; some have suggested migrating all of your stuff to the new account. This can be done, and is probably a true fix, but is no fun.

10.12.1 cannot be that far away. You may want to try to hold out a bit longer.
