iOS 10 - Alarm stopped working

I've upgraded my iPhone 6 to iOS 10.0.1 and ever since the update, my alarm clock no longer works. I can set an alarm, the alarm clock icon shows up in the upper RH of the screen, but when it's time to alert, nothing happens. The phone does not turn on, it does not create any sound. I've tried everything I could think of and the suggestions online, but no luck.

Another odd behavior is that even after an alarm has past (with no reaction in the phone) the icon in the upper RH remains. I can delete all alarms, the alarm icon still is present on the screen.

I've tried the new Bedtime feature thinking it my by part of the problem, but it also does not work. However, it does have some impact; if I turn on the bedtime feature, the alarm clock icon on the upper RH of the screen will go away and any alarm (on the alarm screen) that was armed gets turned off. It's as if the two are mutually exclusive meaning you can either use Bedtime or traditional alarms, but not both. Does anyone know if this is the case?

I really doubt I'll use the Bedtime feature, it's a little odd and not terribly useful for a hectic life that isn't too predictable for going to bed each night. However, losing total functionality of the traditional alarm clock is a huge disappointment.

I've tried restarting the phone; the only thing that does is make the alarm clock icon disappear (if it was stuck on from a prior alarm). It does not restore the actual vibrate / audible function of an alarm that is set.

I also deleted my iHome clock app thinking the alarms from that app might somehow be competing with the native iOS alarm function, even though they both worked fine in iOS 9.

I have had problems with my alarm since the update also, things like the alarm "app" itself freezing mid use and force closing itself where the phone sometimes will even restart!

I also have ALOT of trouble turning on and off alarms as I have a few set and have never had a problem, I will turn them either off or on it doesn't matter and pretty much 100% guaranteed it will do the opposite to what I wanted it to do!

When I want to put on in it goes back off

It's a never ending challenge some nights before bed!! Starting to have enough of these updates!

I am having the exact same issue with an iPhone 5S. The thing is that some alarms do ring, where as others don't. I tried if parameters like setting an old alarm or putting a new one made a difference, but they don't at all. The thing even crazier is that I tried putting a third party alarm clock app, that I've been using for a long time as well, and those don't ring either! Even a nap app doesn't work anymore. I have lost quite some important appointments because of it, and it is unreal why Apple is not fixing this!

I also have the same issue with my alarm after the update. I decided to try a third party app alarm and it worked for about 2 days. Then it stopped working altogether and my phone alarm worked for 1 day. Unfortunately, nothing works now. It doesn't matter what third party alarm I choose to download, none of them make sound at all but the icons pop up saying stop/snooze. I am on my way to Walmart to buy an alarm clock and then to purchase an Android again!

I had this same problem and tried a variety of different methods suggested in this stream (deleting and re-adding the alarms etc.) including a hard reboot each day to try and get it working. Sometimes this would work and other times not. In the end I realised that the sound on my alarm seem to be linked to the sound of the video player/headphone volume. If the headphone/speaker volume is set to off then the alarm becomes silent as well. However, if not set to silent i.e. any level of volume then my alarm seemed to go off ok (and the alarm volume seems to correspond to the level of the headphone/speaker volume). I don't know if this is a function of having the "change with buttons" option selected under Ringer and Alerts in the Sounds page of Settings but ensuring the headphone/speaker volume is set to a reasonable level seems to have cured this problem for me...

So I started to have the same issue and after playing with lots of settings including airplay I tried the following

Went to Settings > Sounds > Ringer and Alerts > Change with Buttons

Turned it off so the buttons no longer controlled the ringer and alerts

Got my sounds back on my ringer and my alarms

The only thing I had recently changed was turning on the announce option for calls so I now have it turned off as well

Hope this helps some people struggling without alarms who don't want to do a reset

Cheers
