Mail attachments disappeared with Sierra

After upgrading to Sierra, for all my encrypted emails (mime) the attachments disappeared.

I do not see anything just a question mark instead of the attachment in each email.

With a backup I reimported a second time the mails but it hasn't changed anything.

Is ti a Sierra bug ? How to solve it ?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

More information:

I opened one email with an attachment directly copied from my El Capitan backup and opened it in Sierra Mail app by doublecliking. It was working perfectly the attachment was visible.

I searched the same email in Sierra Mail App and the attachment was not anymore readable (just a question mark appears instead).

Conclusion: I thing that, while importing mailboxes, sierra mail is corrupting a part of the emails (.emlx) which are after import not anymore readable !

I recommend to not only give feedback on apple.com/feedback, but preferably file a bug report at bugreport.apple.com, classifying it as a serious bug. My experience is that Apple at least reads all bug reports. Often, the reaction is that they will close your bug as duplicate, but then you have the bug id which can be helpful in discussions with the support desk. Also, numerous duplicate reports of the same bug will most probably increase their awareness of a serious problem.

I tried to file a bug report but I am not a certified developer so I can't do that. I have called and reported this issue to APlle several times and every tech person I've spoken to doesn't know anything about it. The one said that they had heard about this from someone else but then went on to tell me it was an issue with my email server, which of course it is not. I will send feedback though and hope that this bug gets fixed fast!!

@Sheryl: It is possible to create a free developer account which allows you to file bug reports, but it may be a somehow excessive effort to do so just for this.

I am sorry, I cannot file a bug because I have not updated my Macs to Sierra yet. However, if someone in this forum has filed a bug, and got back a reference to the bug id, he/she might want to post it here for others to refer to.

Same problem here, spent 3 hours on the phone with Apple support and nothing so far. I am using GoDaddy email account and they tend to blame GoDaddy which does not have any comment on this problem. This is a real important issue. Not be able to retrieve important attachment send to customers is simply unacceptable.

BTW, Apple asked me to upgrade to 10.12.1 which does not solve this issue. Hope that some fix is coming soon or I will have to find a different email app. Very disappointing with Apple.

Not only disappointing, but actually a shame. I am looking forward to the presentation of new MacBooks tonight and had planned to order one right away, but now I simply cannot do this, because I would not be able to handle encrypted mail under Sierra!

Also, it is shame that Apple seems not to care much about e-mail encryption. This bug has been reported as early as when Sierra was still beta, and obviously it never got the attention it should have.

I have exactly the same situation. Updated to 10.12.1 did not solve the issue. As many of us I am relying to Mail app for my work. This is a big handicap. I will have to explore other Mail app and I am not thrill to go back to Outlook! You may think that in 2016 this kind of issue will be part of the past... Are we really better off than in the 90's... I really wonder! And total silence from Apple and GoDaddy... Of course this is the hot potato game! I spoke to both of them.
