iPhone iOS 10 keyboard issues

Since updating to iOS 10, I've found that when using safari the keyboard doesn't switch back to text when putting a comma in. It works fine in other apps messages, notes, emails etc. The stranger thing is that if I pick a number and press space it says on that view, but if I pick a number then comma it does switch back to letters. Does anyone else have this problem or managed to fix it? I think it's a bug and have reported it.

just installed iOS 10.1 on my iPhone 7 plus and went to check if the screen scroll glitch in safari has been fixed... Billions in profit, thousands of technicians working, designing and fixing software issues and obviously NO ONE BOTHERED to get this issue looked at and fixed. Unbelievable. I'm starting to lose faith in Apple and it's iOS.

Try this:

To add punctuation to text, most iPhone users will pause typing, press the "123" key to see the numerical and symbolic options, tap the symbol (or number) they want, and then hit the "ABC" menu to return to the alpha keyboard.

If you're still adding in symbols and numbers this way, then boy, do we have a treat for you. This will take a teeny bit of getting used to, but from now on, the next time you want to add punctuation, pause typing, press and hold the "123" key, then without removing your finger (or thumb!) from the screen, slide it over to land on what you want to insert.

As you release your digit from the display, the symbol will have been entered into your text and you'll be back on the alpha keyboard.

I have the same issue.

Here': the scenario

See? 8 barely have to explain. The typos there are a direct result of this bug.

I expect the keyboard to switch back to alpha after I switch over to special characters to type something like an apostrophe or a question mark. I do it, -'d start typing, but it doesn't switch back to alpha like it used to when I typed a comma or some other special characters. So I start making a few typos before it decides to switch back.

In iOS 9, when you typed a comma, the keyboard would automatically switch back to alpha because normally you would expect to continue typing letters, not a string of nonsense special characters.

Apple, I know programming isn't a super easy thing. If finding bugs and fixing them were easy, I wouldn't have a job in tech support. But this bug seems so trivial when it doesn't really seem like anything about the keyboard has changed. Please try to fix this.

I have had big issues with typing and lag on my iPhone 6 Plus - the lag just typing a message or filling out a webform on it made it almost unusable to the point of me fantasising about smashing it against the concrete. There seems to be an issue with ios 10 and the apple keyboard code. I have installed the Swiftkey keyboard until apple fixes the issue in a future update. The phone works perfectly again with Swiftkey installed.

The issue with the keyboard reverting back to alpha after going to the numerical keyboard was fixed. Still having issues with scrolling and the screen not following. I even switched carriers AND got another iPhone 7. When I got my new iPhone, I went ahead and set it up as new iPhone just to see if it was a bug in my settings causing the issue. The issue remained however.
