Iphone 7 Keyboard Volume

I loaded IOS 10 on my Iphone 6S Plus and loved the new keyboard click sounds. I received my Iphone 7 Plus today and turned on Keyboard clicks, turned ringer volume up to max and I can barely hear the clicks in the most quiet room. Also the sound of music coming out the dual speakers is lousy and certainly no better than the Iphone 6S. All other sounds work normally. If Apple is going to have an option for keyboard click sounds then you need to let us hear them. Disappointing to say the least on a $1000 phone.

Multiple weeks later, I received a similar response via my open support case.

I have received final confirmation from my software engineering team that the reduction in keypress volume in the current version of iOS 10 is expected, this is not a hardware issue, or error with the software that is installed on your iPhone.

Why this took weeks to get me an answer, especially if it was "intentional"? No idea. Why the volume is still louder running iOS 10.0.1 on my iPhone 6S Plus when my iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 10.0.1 was barely audible? No clue. While I have updated the new phone to iOS 10.0.2 since then, that doesn't tell me how two phones running the exact same iOS were still noticeably different in terms of volume.

@SoundHD, any way to get back on the public beta? I deleted the iOS 10 beta profile when the "final" version was complete.

For everybody wondering, this is most likely a software issue and not a hardware issue. Some people have commented that going to the public beta has helped their iPhone's sound. I can also say that iOS 10.1 could have fixed this bug, but I am not sure. Knowing that Apple is aware of this bug (I have recently asked them about this in a support chat), they are probably working on fixing this issue. All I ask is for the people who are having this issue to please be patient. I would suggest to make sure that your iPhone is running the most up-to-date software. (Updating the beta firmware may help)

That could be true but, some users in this discussion have stated that updating their iPhone 7 has helped them. "Seems to have been fixed with 10.0.3. Can now hear the clicks on my iPhone 7 Plus" and "So just loaded the latest public beta and it appears they have fixed the Key Click Volume issue. It isn't super loud but at least i can hear it now." It could be the specific models of the iPhone 7 that is defective.

@Cheese1357, I'm not saying they are not out there. I'm saying I have not seen a single iPhone 7 or 7 Plus (in store or otherwise) that rivals the sound coming out of my 6S Plus. That, combined with Apple's tech telling me his dev. team informed him this was intentional, leads me to believe any phones where this isn't an issue are not only few and far betweeen, but are also most likely experiencing an unintended bug for the better. In either case, the only thing that will bring this to the forefront for Apple to potentially address, is enough people talking/complaining about it.

So I'm having this issue too. Today's date is 11/06/16 and I contacted Apple and the only solution offered was to reset my settings. I've read about this issue and it might be from the IOS update. I'm currently running 10.1.1 on my iPhone7+ but like you mentioned, definitely a downside to a device worth $900+ dollars. Hopefully there's an update that fixes this ASAP!

I'm glad I've got company on this issue. After making the keyboard clicks sound so sexy (on my iPhone 6) with iOS 10 to now being enable to barely even hear them on this $900 iPhone 7 is surprising to say the least. Here I was searching for a different volume slider somewhere in settings because SURELY this cannot be the maximum volume for key clicks. Apple... key clicks are not trivial... do better!!
