OLD HOME MOVIES GONE!

It seems that the current version of iTunes (12.5.1.21) no longer accepts my old home movies and has completely deleted them from my library. They previously showed up in Itunes with a video icon alongside - but no sign of them there, or anywhere else I looked either in the Itunes listing or the library file on my external hard drive.

Unless anyone can come up with an acceptable reason for this, and a simple way to recover them, this is the last straw and the final bullet in Apple's coffin. How dare they just delete my stuff?

I checked my iTunes and all of my home movies are still existing in my library. The funny thing is, that none of them exist in the Home Movie folder, they are in another folder, the one that I added them to iTunes from. You may want to check if you know a file name, or date section, because it is very possible they still exist on your system, but are in another folder. Mine did not move at all, and I've been using every version of iTunes for a while. I've even removed and reinstalled a couple of times, since I end up having to use the one for older video cards. Check your Video library in Windows and see if they are there.

It is possible this is related to another bug. If I recall correctly some builds of iTunes haven't moved video files around correctly on import or after a media kind change and it has required turning the Keep organized option off and then back on again to move them, if they were inside the media folder to start with. Consolidating from outside should always put them in the correct place.
