Possible Fix: If you are experiencing poor sound from your speakers on a voice call on your Verizon iPhone 7 (or recently purchased 6s)

Looks like this article may see an uptick in views as there are sproatic reports that some iPhone 7's sound quality on calls is not clear. The commonality appears to be Verizon as your provider.

My hunch is this is related to Verizon's LTE Voice.Verizon has recently begun shipping iPhones with LTE enabled for calls by default. Prior to this summer, this was not the case, it was available (since the 6) but not on by default.

If your calls are sounding like they are in a tin can, or "behind" the phone, try turning off LTE for Voice to see if this fixes the issue.

I have tried LTE for Voice on both my iPhone 6 and my iPhone 6s when I first got them and ultimately turn it off. I will try my wife's 7 at some point to see how it sounds.

But for those readers here that are on Verizon and experiencing it, here is the likely fix or workaround.

Go into Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options and select Data Only

If this helps, then the issue isn't the phone, but the Verizon service.

iPhone 7, iOS 10

First, make sure the plastic covering on the display to protect it during shipment has been removed. If you have your iPhone in a case, try removing it and making a call. If you still notice the volume isn't quite where it should be, use the steps in the article linked below for further assistance.

If you can‘t hear a person on a call or voicemail or if the sound isn‘t clear on your iPhone
