Where is the share button for Mail in iOS 10?

This morning I went to go print an email to my AirPrint printer, and I could not find the "Share" button, where I'd expect to find the "Print" option. I've been searching around the web looking for info, unsuccessfully; the stories I've found about iOS 10 Mail all have screen shots that look like mine: Mail messages with no "Share" button at the bottom, and no mention of the missing feature. Past versions of iOS did have a share button, I think. At least, I've seen reference to it.

Does someone know where the "Share" button is for Mail, or otherwise how do I print a Mail message?

iPhone SE, iOS 10, 64 GB

I, too, am looking for the SHARE button!! But unlike the OP, I need SHARE button from links within emails. For instance, I get digests of news stories. When there's a story I want to read, I click SHARE so I can read it later or share it with someone.

Options now are reduced to "Open Link, Add to Reading List, and Copy". (Applies to iPhone 7 running iOS 10.2; iPhone 6 running iOS 10.2 doesn't have this problem.) None of those options allow me to SHARE with another person! None of these options allow me to SHARE with myself. It's still in Safari.........

Hello Lizconno,

No need to be rude, we are all trying to help each other. In iOS 11 I hope you found your Share option back:

  • Select all the text you want to share with the app of interest
  • tap the right arrow to get the 2nd set of options of the pop-up menu
  • there you'll find the Share option.

It works with any snipped of text in pretty much any app.

Hi Theresa,

I've just tried this solution with my Gmail account and it works as described.

Beware that I am writing about the native Mail app. If you're using the Gmail app then path is:

  1. Select/Open email of interest.
  2. Tap on the three-dot menu (right top)
  3. Tap Print/Print All
  4. Tap AirPrint (important)
  5. Pinch to Zoom the preview
  6. The share button will pop up like in the native app.

Below, some screenshots that may help you.

Also, If you want to share snippets of text follow my previous post: you just select the text of interest, tap right then "share..." and you're all set.

Have a good one!

Hi all,

About a year later I came to the same need and hit this open discussion.

In iOS 10 and 11 option si quite buried, yes, in the "print" option. So:

1. Open your email of interest.

2. Hit the "Reply" button

3. Select print

4. Pinch to zoom into the preview,

5. This will lead you to a PDF version of the email with the Share icon in the top right corner!

You will then have all apps that can handle a PDF in your phone. Here the full article, it says "to notes" but it's the same drill for any app of your interest: https://9to5mac.com/2017/03/28/how-to-save-email-notes-ios/

I am submitting a Product Feedback - Apple requesting:

- Adding the following actions under the "Reply" menu: "Share..." "Remind..." "Meet..."

- adding an static "Archive" action under the "Move" icon as it is the usual destination of a lot of my email, being either a FYI or after converting it in an actionable element in reminders

Hope you still find this useful.

Greetings lkalliance,

Thanks for your post today in the Apple Support Communities. I see that you are not able to find the share button while in email so you can print an email using AirPrint. I know that is a great feature. I will be more than happy to help.

The feature to print an email in iOS 10 is still there, just in a different place. While in the email, tap on the reply button. From there you will have the option to reply, forward, and print the email.

Hope this helps. Enjoy the new features in iOS 10!

Take care.
