missing "Add to Bookmarks" in Safari 10/macOS Sierra

After clean install macOS Sierra, I could not find "Add to Bookmarks" in Safari 10.0 (12602.1.50.0.10). It only shows "Favorites" as shown in the following picture.

If your Favorite list is very long, it might be quicker to type the first letter of the subfolder you want to jump quickly through the list of folders instead of using arrow keys. For me, the old "Bookmarks menu" folder appears below the Favorites folder in the menu. I have to scroll way down to the bottom of this list to add something to the Bookmarks menu.

It might be much quicker to reveal the Bookmarks sidebar and to drag the bookmark directly from the URL field to the bookmarks folder you want. Or drag it the URL directly into the Bookmarks menu bar, wherever you want it.

If I remember correctly the "Add to Bookmarks" vanished, when the pinned tabs were introduced. The pinned tabs need much less space than the entries in the bookmarks bar.

Thanks Dimaxum. But this is not the answer. I am still wish to see bookmarks as one of the list to save website page. I guess from the answer that I get that I am the only one who get this glitch in Safari and I might re-install OS X again. My question, in short, is that I am forced to save pages only in one location which is favorites (or any other folder, I'll made).

I'n not sure, if it is a glitch or broken by design. "Bookmarks" does no longer appear in the selector for me either, only in the expended menu, when Favorites is selected. Then I can navigate to the "Bookmarks" folder below the expanded favorites folder and drop the bookmark into the Bookmarks menu or any other bookmarks folder. That is why I am using the other ways to drag and drop the bookmark directly into the place where I want it.

Thanks léonie. This confirm that what I see is not only with me. I was planning to re-install macOS Sierra. Now, I will go back to El Capitan as my MacBook Pro is mid 2010 (although I manually upgraded its RAM to 8GB and replaced its HDD to 120 SSD) but it sounds that macOS Sierra is not suitable for me. All the above depends if this "glitch" related only to OS X but if it is related to Safari 10, then I am really disappointed. I do really to quickly save pages into Bookmarks and NOT into favorites or other customized folders. Which means that even if I reverted to El Capitan, I will still face the same issue.

I understand exactly what you mean as its happening to me too. If i save a page on iso10 (or any before this) via my iPhone it gives me the bookmarks option exactly how I wish. os forces you to put it in into a folder, the only option i see currently is creating a folder called 'bookmark'. Not ideal but fairly simple i guess, although defeats the object as iOS can before what we want.

Thanks Eau. But I ask about the possibility to have bookmarks as one of the options from the drop-down menu when saving web page. This option is omitted in my case.

If by Bookmarks you mean the Bookmarks menu, it is there as always.

If by Bookmarks you mean the area below the address area, there is a simple way to add a bookmark there: drag the address directly to where you want to put it.

Thanks Luis. Your kind response, I think, is not what I asked for. Here is a picture of old version of Safari shows the location of the "Bookmarks" that I want to see in Safari 10:

As you see, the option "Bookmarks" is clear and it is among others like "Top Sites" and "Favorites".

Now, you kind response is far from what I asked for. I knew that the menu of Safari has "Bookmarks" among other menu items like "File", "Edit", "View" and so on.

The other possibility that you mention is not applicable, because it will show NOT the "Bookmarks" but will show the "Favorite" sites under the address bar.
