Had a customer in yesterday with this issue. It's the Apple installer. I backed up his user data, reformatted the drive, tried the current Sierra install and it failed. Then did an install from the original Sierra download and everything went great, See my answer here: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/343529/App+Store+Problem+download+or+update# answer343540

I had this problem too this morning. Exactly the same problem.

Finally SOLUTION!!!!! That's how I get my macbook pro mid 2012 to work.

1. Remove SSD from MacBook.

2. Connect SSD to another MacBook by using SSD reader.

3. Go to "Recovery .." Folder

4. Delete some software(optional) you don't need and delete razer mouse software(must delete).

5. Put it back and it will install sierra successfull.

I also delete the razer mouse uninstaller

I got around the same error by booting into Safe Mode which seemed to complete the installation. I did detach all hardware (including the firewire device that was in the kernel panic message).

Note: not every restart had the apple boot sound, and thus I wasn't able to boot into safe mode during some of the restarts that predate the crash. But, one restart during the process definitely did make the sound so I held shift until I saw the apple and sure enough it worked. BTW,you can't tell you're actually in safe mode until way later in the process.

Yes i am having the same problem on my Macbook air early 2014. I cant even log into my profile, the loading bar loads half way and just shuts down next showing the picture of the "Kernel Paniac". Anybody have any solutions, and can the apple store fix it?

I tried but my mac will not go into safe mode. The Macbook refuses to load into the user profile, every time it tries to load the bar stops half way and shows the Kernel Panic picture. i tried everything, recovery mode, internet recovery, PRAT. I even tried the diagnostic step, all that shows me is that the macbook has no serial number. The serial number for some reason is unavailable, and the refrence code given is NNN001. I have no clue what to do?

You have a hardware problem. Suggest you make a Genius Bar appointment at you local Apple store and have your Mac evaluated (that part is free; any repairs you authorize will cost, unless you are within the warranty or still under Apple Care).
