Whenever I access a Mac Mail mailbox, the preview text of all the messages flickers initially, then stops. This is a new issue since upgrading to Sierra. I haven't seen this reported by anyone else, so I'm hoping it's something that can be resolved. Is anyone else seeing this, and is there a known solution?

You should not assume these discussions to be monitored by Apple. Microsoft does not monitor their forums either. While sometimes, there will be Apple employees on the forum it's not a given. That's what feedback is for.
I don't assume that Apple monitors these discussions and 'Microsoft doesn't either' is hardly a customer service quality benchmark. If feedback weren't such a black hole, I'd be a happier and more loyal customer.

One of the key diagnostic points in this thread is that when it happens, simply quitting Mail and reopening it fixes the problem. The flickering goes away. This clearly points to software, not hardware.
Another key point is not everyone has this problem. So is this a combination of software and hardware?
I have this very same problem. There must be another solution than a re-install, given that obviously the flickering re-occured later. Would appreciate a long-term solution.
