iOS 10 Bluetooth Keyboard Home Button Issue?

Hope you found a fix, with the KB problem,

By the following are you putting the system to sleep, " However, if you disconnect the keyboard, lock the iOS screen, then reconnect the Bluetooth keyboard."

Are you needing to use your password to re-enter into your system or direct re-awaken/re-logon, [no password].

The system needs to reconnect to bt/kb once its re-initialized back, out of sleep mode. Or after pause state.

Initialization may be the manufacturer's input on this one if it won't stay connected always.

Mac mini needs just pressing any key....... to reconnect

I would buy a new button if I knew that it would work with iOS 10. I read a disclaimer on Amazon about a similar product and it specifically said that it worked on iOS, but not iOS 10 or iPhone 7. It appears that I will need to dump my 2015 vehicle and buy a 2017 vehicle with CarPlay to have easy access to Siri.

I'm experiencing a consistent behavior with iOS 10.2.1 and Satechi remote control:

everything works provided that the first key pressed to get the iphone out of sleep is not the home button!

For instance I press "mute" and then I press "home" -> Siri activated!

So am I. I recently bought another similar button, likely with the same electronics inside. I could pair it with my iPhone 6 with iOS 10.2.1 and it also does not act as a Home button as it should have and as the Satechi button previously did. When I press the new BT button, it wakes the display, but does not invoke Siri. If the phone is already awake, pressing it shows the audio volume graph. Really useful.

I have had no luck with iOS 11. It's been through a couple of releases with no joy. Please note the military response. I wonder if the use of third party Bluetooth buttons are excluded by Apple intentionally for security reasons. Just a guess. I have tried the Saitechi and one other and neither will work.

So, the crux of the issue is that ios 11 seems to thing the home button is a keyboard.

I got it working for a bit using ios 11. But got confused and i lost my soft keyboard in safari.

Once is disconnected the home button from bluetooth i got my button again.

So the problem stems from how ios is reconizing the satechi home button as a keyboard.

All of the third party equipment makes any suggestions of mine a guess - at best.

Updated to 10.1 but satechi home Button still not working 😟

Same problem here with Satachi home button. I have updated to iOS 10.1, and also try to reset network setting. But still not work. Hope Apple can fix it in the next release....

The device I'm having problems with is the Satechi Home Button. The button has not worked predictably or reliably since I upgraded to an iPhone 7 and, more or less simultaneously, upgraded to the latest iOS version. While the button will establish a bluetooth connection (when first pressed once) to the iPhone, it will usually NOT bring up Siri. Although, sometimes, rarely and totally unpredictably, it will. I liked the Satechi Home Button when it worked but I'm going to have to return it, reluctantly, since I cannot rely on it working anymore. Bummer.
