External HDD marked as dirty - how to fix it?

Hello

I have an external HDD Hitachi of 320GB that I have been used as external store for over 5 years, and I have saved on it over 190GB of files of various type, from pdf to movies and music.

Suddenly my Macbook Pro (OS X El Capitan) is mounting the external HDD as usual but not seeing files in it anymore in Finder. I have checked the HDD with both Paragon NTFS for MAC and Utility Disk and both are sayinf that "the volume is marked as dirty".

I really need to recover the files in this HDD as for many of them I do not have a complete backup (it is not easy to back up between PC at work, Macbook, etc... for time reasons.

Is anyone that can give me a suggestion on how to fix the HDD or at least recovery the files in it?

Thanks

I wish it could be so easy, but unfortunately even on the working PC with WIN it does the same, it says it is dirty.

I need to find a software or a system to recover the 174GB I have on the HDD, I can see them as an info regarding size, but cannot access the folders and files and both Utility Disk and Paragon NTFS are not fixing the problem, just reporting it with no solution proposed.
