How do I see a shared note?

After we upgraded to Sierra, my wife and I shared some notes with each other (using AirDrop). When I look at my shared note, it shows as being shared with her. When I looked at her shared note, it shows as being shared with me.

But I can't find her note and she can't find my note.

How do we find these shared notes?

I have found various directions on the Web telling me how to share - but they all assume that once shared, it would be obvious how to see those shared notes.

I just noticed: My note says my wife has been invited. I infer that we didn't properly accept the invitations. But I don't know how to accept now. Add each other again?

That link shows how to do what I have already done. My computer thinks a Note is shared with my wife. My wife's computer thinks a note is shared with me.

But neither of us can find the shared note.

So now you know that what I said at the first is correct. I have shared a note with my wife. She has shared a different note with me.

The trouble is, she can't see the note I shared with her, and I can't see the note she shared with me. None of the directions describe what we need to do after we have shared notes to actually access those notes. Her note is named "Grocery List", which my uploaded screen shot showed wasn't visible.

From your post, I understand that you're trying to use the new share notes feature. I've found it really convenient, and would love to help make sure you and your wife can use it!

With macOS Sierra and iOS 10, you can share your notes through the Notes app directly by adding people; you don't need to use AirDrop. The following article will provide you with more instructions on how to share notes. Shared notes will appear right in your Notes app.

Thanks for the clarification!

Shared notes can be identified in one of two ways:

When the note is selected, there is a checkmark on the People button in the upper right of the Notes app. Clicking this button will tell you who that particular note is shared with.
When looking at your list of notes, there will be a People icon to the left of the note title.

In the screenshot you shared, the note you have selected is the shared note.
