Chrome keeps crashing when it goes into fullscreen mode on the Sierra OS.

Ever since I upgraded to the new OS Sierra, Chrome keeps crashing when it goes into full screen mode. For example, I'd fullscreen a video on youtube, and after a couple minutes Chrome crashes and I'm logged out for some weird reason. I have to then enter my login password to my mac user only to find chrome restarting with the error message "Google Chrome did not shutdown properly."

Its really odd that it logs me out of my user account on the mac everytime it crashes, and not just shuts down Chrome.
And by "logs me out of user account", I mean I'm logged out over here:

Anyone having the same issue?

Thanks!

Rahal, I am also having this same issue, just after switching to Sierra last night. It seems to work just fine when i full-screen in safari, although IMO chrome is much easier to use than safari. I guess we will just have to wait until an update is released either for sierra or chrome.

EDIT

I read that you could turn off hardware acceleration for a fix. I'm not exactly sure what this does, but I turned off hardware acceleration in Chrome's advanced settings and it works just like it did on the previous osx. For reference, I am using chrome version 53.0.2785.116.

Hope that works out for you.
