Can any one type Vietnamese (Telex) on Mac Sierra?

I just updated to Mac Sierra and I realized that I can't type Vietnamese anymore. Even I added Vietnamese language into my keyboard, and chose it ( both VNI and Telex) but it doesn't work at all. I could typed Vietnamese normally with the previous OS though.

And how do I switch between languages on the keyboard by hitting Space and Command since the shortcut changes to Space Control and ^ in Mac Sierra though.

Thanks

I found my problem.

This is because I'm using WebRoot SecurityAnywhere. (https://www.webroot.com/us/en/)

Maybe there is conflict with new MacOS. After shutdown that software, either "Telex" or "Simple Telex" works well.

Information for anyone has similar problem: Please check your softwares that run globally (for example security softwares) to confirm if there is any conflict with Vietnamese Input source

I also have typing Vietnamese problem with Calculating Apps, Numbers and Excel. I cannot type a accurate word in the first time with Vietnamese keyboard. It showed double letters or more while I texted only one. Example, firstly, i type "t", it appeared "t", but then typing "h", it showed "tth" instead of "th". After that, i type more lettler "i", it jumped "tthtthi". So, in order to type correct word, I have to press "delete" key and text again. This doesnt occur when I choose US keyboard.

I have a similar issue. Some unexpected letters were often auto inputted when typing Vietnamese (Telex or Simple Telex) on Sierra. This issue does not happen if switching to U.S.

I reinstalled macOS El Capitan and this issue was fixed.

I didn't try a third-party app for typing Vietnamese, but it's ideas as well while waiting the fix on Sierra.

I had some luck with switching to the new Vietnamese key map (appears to be first party, wasn't there when I originally installed VNI). So far, I can type tiếng Việt this way.

PS: I'm not running Webroot anything, but I do have Avast antivirus installed on this user account. I refuse to establish a new user account to test that solution.

Hope that helps! Now to try to re-learn the key mapping all over again.

Vietnamese Telex for OS Sierra as follows. Click system preferences, keyboard, input sources, bottom left corner click on the +, scroll down and select Vietnamese, in the upper right of the panel select "Telex", Click "add" down below check "show input menu in menu bar". Now in the right side of the menu bar at the top of your screen you should see a US flag with "U.S." beside it if you are currently using English. Left click and select "Telex". Your done, go for it! To switch back to the previous language just go back to the same item in the menu bar and select another language.

My wife is from Vietnam and this is the format she uses.

Good luck.

Paul.
