iPhone 7 Plus Camera - Pictures are bad

Apple won't do anything with pleas on here as these are discussion threads only.

I contacted support again through twitter and a senior advisor is going to contact me today.

I also found this thread on macrumors forums and a camera app developer chimed in:

The senior adviser sent me an email that i can upload photos and it will be reviewed by engineers. I would suggest everyone do the same. If no one contacts Apple, they will have no reason to at least try to fix it.

I uploaded about 10 bad photos and waiting to see what they say.

I have also got through to a senior adviser and sent both ip5 and ip7 comparisons as well as screen grabs. This seems to be the way to go as he was open minded and could see the over-processed painterly type effect from the 7.

Do you think that it's a softwear issue which can be fixed easily?

Any idea what the engineer's name is as what I had was a joke...

I find it extremely upsetting that they have yet to reply back to my bug ticket that I created back in October 31st. Everyone here is getting a response and here I am almost 2 months later and I have yet to receive a f-ucking thing.

I'm not sure. If its a compression issue, if they lessen the compression they should have some room to work with. I'd rather have bigger high quality photos than a whole bunch that are poor.

Just a quick example of bad photo from iPhone 7. Taken in quite good lighting. Take a look at surroundings at the top of the photo (after zooming to 100%).
Best iPhone camera? I beg to differ.

Google has done a great job with their Pixel Phone... Apple needs to take note.

Thanks for posting the review. They are seeing the same things we are it's our phones. Finally someone is noticing the issue beside us "pixel peepers".

Makes me weep with despair...

I have had nothing from Apple support aside from my last update, I went back on Twitter and they said I need to go through the guy who basically fobbed me totally off and they've now stopped replying to my messages asking if it could be assigned to someone else as I wasn't happy with his dealing of the issue at all...

This is deplorable.

If this is not fixed somehow, I will never buy another iPhone again.

This will be my last iPhone feel let down by this issue alongside a zoom lens that's useless in anything but excellent light. My daughter was in her school concert and the pictures we had from this phone are horrid... so thankful I took the SLR even if I might've annoyed other parents!

Quite nice comparison jpeg vs raw with full sized examples. Just look at the picture with bicycle (floor with tiles) and you will easily see how much details are lost with default camera without raw...
