iPhone 7 Plus Camera - Pictures are bad

I take the following picture with my new iPhone 7 Plus (only one example).

So as you can see, this is really crap.

What is the problem? Is it a Hardware of Software (10.0.2) issue?

The results of my old iPhone 6s Plus were better...

I sometimes look at past photos taken with iphone 4S, 5S and 6S. Those pictures look nice, good color reproduction, good details. Why do you think Apple sid not show any landscape and colorfull photos in their iphone 7 keynote, like they used to with older models?? They knew that color reproduction is horrible, oil painted and details are crap.

I do not expect a perfect phone, but seriously, I do expect a decent camera!

My family just got three Iphone 7s about three weeks ago and I cannot believe how bad the quality of these pictures are. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED, I was not expecting DSLR quality but this pics are horrible, like so many have mentioned before they look like watercolor paintings, especially when you zoom in. Take a look at this pic taken without zooming the camera, the edges of the Christmas ornaments look so grainy and blurry, and the grass looks very fuzzy.

I took all three phones to a Genius bar appt at my local Apple store yesterday, and the techs who help me, didn't even bother to take a close look at the pics before telling me everything was fine. Without even looking at the pics closely, just said something to the tune of "I have not heard any complains, those pics looks fine to me." He ran a diagnostic on all three phones, and of course he said he could not find anything wrong, that everything was checking fine (they won't admit is a problem yet). Also talked to the tech supervisor, and he was as unhelpful and rude as the tech himself. Tried to return the phones, but Apple only has a 14 return policy, garbage, this may be my last Iphone purchase. User uploaded file

Italian here. I've been having the same issue with my 7 Plus so, after waiting (in vain) for an OS update to solve it, I've contacted the Apple support by phone. I've been told that they received the same complaint from other users, yet no replacement program has been issued. Alright, nothing new I guess.

My iPhone 5 took way better pictures and you can say it at a glance. No need to zoom in or overanalyze the objects in the shot. Its camera was the main reason for this purchase and now I have a phone that takes bad pictures and there's no way to get a refund. What makes me upset is the fact that Apple does not recognize this issue, not even a 'please just wait we're working on it'. Nothing.

I'll take the phone to a Genius Bar but I don't expect much from it. Never had an issue with my Apple devices, it's the first time and I feel like I just have to accept the phone as it is. Frustrating.

Hello,

I'm sure they would know if they're post went missing and others have reported similar on other threads as well.

In either case could we keep on topic please.

I have had no joy from Apple on this issue, I've not gone to a Genius Bar yet for fear of being fobbed off. So far the bug and support case I raised have been fobbed off, equally dealing with Apple Support over Twitter was useless they told me I need to speak with only the guy who fobbed me off.

So literally I am exasperated.
