Safari and any other browser crosses out the play button since I changed to IOS 10. Before it worked well, a simple link to a mp4-File showed a play button which simply had to be pressed to play the video. (It still works on iPad or iPhone with IOS 9).
I found some discussion on this issue but no solution. Is there any solution or at least some explanation?

Hi. The file may have an unsupported video format. It seems like iOS 10 adheres more strictly to the video formats described in the device specs, for example http://www.apple.com/ipad-air-2/specs/. Are you able to play a generic video, e.g. on vimeo? Also, is this a handmade web page, or managed website? There may be a problem with the HTML text.
Video format is supported. There is no problem with the HTML, on other mobiles and on IOS 9 it works fine. The problem must be within IOS 10 (all further updates do have the same problem).
The problem is not an individual problem neither. All persons having updated to IOS 10 have troubles too.
If there were some background information on this issue, that would be great.
THe crazy thing: if I upload the video to YouTube and embed it from over there, it works fine. But if I do not want to upload it to YouTube and want to emped it directly, it does not work in IOS 10 only, on all other devices and IOS 9 and before, it works fine too.
