Updating my mid 2012 Macbook Pro.

I use Adobe's Creative Cloud to edit and I've found my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro struggling. It's been about 4 year so I guess now's the time for an update. After a quick google around I've found that Crucial seems to be the way to go. I also know that 8gb it the suggested max but people have reported that 16gb will work (I know, it might be overkill, but After Effects can be pretty taxing.) I also know that RAM isn't the only upgrade suggested, it's all about SSD over the old HD's. So my question is this.

Would the following make a noticeable difference? : http://www.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?displayCompatibleLogo=1&urlRequestType=Bas e&catalogId=10151&productId=11701&extern… (2x4gb Crucial RAM)

http://www.crucial.com/ProductDisplay?displayCompatibleLogo=1&urlRequestType=Bas e&catalogId=10151&productId=1283001&externalPartNumber=CT8462664&urlLangId=-1&sc anId=A0AE763E31D926C3&langId=-1&storeId=10151

Also a question about the SSD. The storage is actually less that the standard HD that's in my Mac (275gb vs the 500gb that's installed) I have external storage that I keep my important and large files on anyway, but will the decrease in storage not make the SSD as effective or regardless of storage size will the fact that it IS an SSD drive make all the difference?

Thank you for any insight or suggestions!

The price of both has dropped like crazy over the last couple years.

I would max out the RAM, and look at 500GB ssd

I have the same MBP mid-2012 13"

I upgraded my MBP with 16gb. of ram and 500gb. SSD

I recommend that if you are going to open up your MBP you might as well max it out.

16gb. of Crucial ram only costs $70

I have Adobe CS6 installed and it works allot better with the upgrades. Apps open instantly.

I mainly use photoshop, acrobat, Illustrator and inDesign.

I have not tried Premier however I think it will work fine for 1080p video editing as long as you don't use any filters.

My MBP performs great with the upgrades. No more beachballs. Apps open instantly.

I recommend 240gb. for each OS you plan on installing. For example I used bootcamp app and created two partitions of 250gb. each. One for OS-X and one for MS-Windows-10

If you plan on storing allot for videos and music on your MBP then use 500gb. partitions.

But definitely use an SSD. A convention hard-drive or SSHD is just to slow.
