How do I search within a note?

WIthout Spotlight, is there a way to search within a note? Notes is one of my most commonly used apps but I am going to have to find something else if I can't search inside the Note. Spotlight only finds the. It's that contains the text string. I know the note I want to search and each note is long and often contains multiple instances of my search string. Even email supports the ability to search and search next. (The irony is that the text editor used to create the app has this functionality).

Am i missing something?

You can do this on a Mac, but you can't do it on iOS (or I can't find it). For the Mac, open Notes. Click on the Note you want to search. Select Edit->Find-> Find and it brings up a little search box. You can search within the Note. It highlights the search term.

Now if someone could find/add this to iOS.

None of the proffered solutions work for me. It is hard to understand why Apple have denied users the ability to search within a note, almost as though they're protecting us from something. Search is standard in most apps that contain text nowadays, and I would have thought Apple would have the smarts to be able to write code that searches for text.

Sorry, but this is no help to me I want to search the Notes app on my iMac not on iCloud and like the OP I want to search within a specific note and have the searched item brought into view like it does on iOS.

****, of course us find in the edit menu but you didn't say that the cursor had to be active in the actually note that you what to search in before Find…, Find Next etc were no longer greyed out. I was just choosing the note in the list of notes like I do in iOS to do a search, although it still searches every note, drag down the list of notes to revel the search bar and pressing on the highlighted search word of the note it actually want to search in the results list take you to the searched word in the correct note
