Push notification not working on iPhone 7

Hi guys,

I have this issue on my new iPhone 7 running iOS 10.0.2: all the push notification aren't working.
I'm trying to use whatsapp, telegram, mail, facebook ecc... but no one is working with notification.

Same issue with both 4G and Wi Fi connection..

A while back I did some research using the output of the console on iOS through Xcode. I found the notifications coming from the app server (Facebook in my case) were malformed. The message content was empty causing the notification to be ignored besides the app icon badge. I reported it to Facebook and after some time I have started receiving notifications again.

If you have checked all the usual issues in your end, the issue is most likely the problem of the application in question. If you aren't receiving notifications still I would suggest you contact the developer and let them know they have an issue. You won't be able to fix it yourself and there isn't anything wrong with your configuration.

If Apple really read these pages please stop these insane updates that slower phones down and screw things up. My sister has a Samsung she has never had one of these issues why do I have an a brand new iPhone X and a brand new Apple Watch? It was working fine turn the do not disturb off but once again there’s no sound coming out of the watch or the phone now I have to read why it keeps doing it so even though I don’t want that battery saving option every time I look at this phone it’s doll my husband just did the update his phone is so slow now he said Apple apologized for this but where does that leave him? Can you guys just stop doing this? You’ve made billions off of people clearly you can make a product that works. Making people go out and buy new phones just stop these terrible updates.

Hello NdR91,

First, I want to start by saying congratulations on your new iPhone 7! Based on the information you've provided, it's my understanding you're not receiving push notifications on your iPhone. I know immediate notifications can be crucial when it come to keeping up to date with many apps. I am happy to help.
If you haven't done so already, I recommend restarting the phone. This can resolve many unexpected behaviors. Use the steps below.

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
  3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

Restart your iPhone, iPad,or iPod touch

If the issue persists, please try the following steps.

  1. Make sure that the app supports notifications. Go to Settings > Notifications, select the app, and make sure that Notifications are turned on.
  2. If you have notifications turned on for an app but you're not receiving alerts, the alert style might be set to None. Go to Settings > Notifications and check that your Alert Style is set to Banners or Alerts.
  3. Make sure that you’re signed in to your Apple ID. Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and enter your Apple ID and password.
  4. Make sure that Do Not Disturb is turned off. Go to Settings > Do Not Disturb and tap Manual if it's turned on.
  5. If you’ve recently installed an app or restored from a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.

I'm having this issue also. Some notifications work but others don't. Annoyingly, they all still work on my iPhone 6, which I still have. Restarting and even a force-restart do not fix the problem. I also tried turning off push notifications for the specific apps having trouble and turning push notifications back on again. Nothing has worked.

I was able to solve this problem by deleting and re-installing each of the affected apps. This is a strange solution, but it worked for me. It was not enough to update the app to a newer version—I had to actually remove it and reinstall. This means you could lose app data, but I didn't have anything in the affected apps (twitter/gmail/uber/lyft).
