how to switch on iPhone 7 camera shutter sound ?
iPhone 7, iOS 10.0.2
I'm a bit late as I just got a new iPhone7 and no longer had a shutter sound compared to my old iPhone5s. I read this thread and two things fixed my iPhone7.
1. Switching "OFF" the "LIVE" camera. But this still wasn't enough.
2. Going to "Music"; playing a song and turning up the volume. My volume was down, almost off.
BTW, turning off "sound & haptics" did NOT turn "on" my camera shutter sound.

Yes, I agree about it.
Although I changed to ringer and alert volume to maximum sound, still shutter sound is bit small sound.
Therefore, I turned on media and music volume to enable to heat normal shutter sound.
Very helpful. This was the solution. Live had to be changed to Normal then the Camera sound worked.
But previously I got sound in live mode also but not now why???
How stupid this is!!

If I take a picture of iPhone 7 the sound is not hearing when it was in a normal mode
None of presented solutions work!!!
Strangely there is a click when pic is taken in Portrait mode

I can't find the setting for media/music, other than to limit the volume on music.
That feature is off... still no shutter sound. I use to have one.
Still doesn't make shutter sound.
FYI, Your fix for turning The shutter sound on/off does not have any effect on the 7plus.
Had my 7plus for over a yr and could never figure out how to turn the shutter sound on. The solution is simple as you pointed out. Thanks much. MGH
this worked for me. what is the consequence of having "live" off?
You won't get the 2-3 seconds of animated photo preceding the still shot.
