How do you input the Apple ID verification code on a macbook? (Mine is OS X Lion 10.7.5)

Many thanks - solved a headache. But Apple should be shot for such a poor UI. This is so unintuitive when most times verification has to be entered into a 6 digit box

Great screen shots.

Sign completely out of iCloud, then sign back in. You should get the prompt to type in the code that will be sent to your phone. Type it in right after your password.

I have same problem. I am not sure what to so, as I sign out of the Itunes- the verification code is needed, which I get on my phone and that's it.

Which password are you using to sign into FaceTime and Messages? You are trying to sign them in on the Mac, correct? What Mac model? What OS?
