What happened to Go Library?

Prior to MacOS Sierra 10.12 the Go pull-down menu would show "Library" as an option if you simultaneously held down the Option key. I have a late 2010 MacBook Air which still does this and a late 2012 iMac which requires pressing the Shift key rather than the Option key. Both are running Sierra 10.12.

Others inthis thread have seen cases where the Option key still works, while still others in the same thread say it doesn't work for them.

Geoffrey,

Wassup here?

In my case, I concur with your iMac Shift Key discovery for displaying "Library." "option" no longer displays the "Library" on my iMac. Hardware difference?

I believe the shift key is now the desired modifier to align with the other locations.

However, it doesn't always work until you fix the preferences by changing the View Options on the Home folder to show or hide the Library.

Once you show it (must toggle the setting if you already show it), the Library item will always be in the menu.

If you deselect Show Library folder, then the Library item will be removed and the Option key will show it.

If you set up an App Shortcut in Keyboard System prefs to use the Shift key like the other options in the menu (cmd-shift-L), then only the Shift key will show Library in the menu, not Option.
