Why is my iPad screen not rotating after recent iOS 10.02 update

I just noticed that my iPad Air 2 has no side switch, nor is there anything in settings about it.

I home screen swipe up control panel from bottom of screen check the padlock is not on.

Hi. Long ago this was a problem, but I haven't seen it for a while. The problem is that a phone app somehow locks the screen in portrait mode. It didn't happen all the time, so it was flukey. You can tell a phone app because it displays in portrait mode, with 1X or 2X in the lower right. The only know fix is to restart the iPad, like this

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.

2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.

3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

See if you can identify which app causes it to lock.

I Have seen the same issue since the 10.2 upgrade on an iPad Air 2. the orientation lock isn't on, switching it doesn't fix it either. Restarting allows it to reorient but you then can't change it again.

Hi. Have you tried turning off Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion? Please report it here https://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html and be sure to mention your device. This seems to be specific to iPad Air 2.

Yep tried. Although the background still picks up motion the screen won't rotate. It seems to be associated with when it has been woken after a night while asleep.
