iTunes play count is only updating first song in playlist

Hello - I have an Apple Music account, and also a macbook, an iPad Pro, and an iPhone 7 Plus. I enjoy listening to music at work, and keeping track of how many plays of different songs I have. I've noticed an issue where iTunes is not updating any play count after the first song in a playlist. For instance, if I have a 15 song playlist that plays for an hour straight through, and then go to iTunes, I'll only see the first song that was played updated. Does anyone know how to correct this?

Where are you playing the songs? Where are you looking at play count? Are you playing the songs on the Mac and looking at play count on the same Mac? Or are you playing the songs on one of your iOS device, and then looking at play count on the Mac?

I noticed the same. When I play songs on my iPhone and later check the play counts on my Mac, only the first of the songs played on my iPhone has an updated play count. I use iCloud Music Library on my iPhone.

Not to answer for the OP, but I have the same problem. I play songs on my iPhone, and I expect the play counts on my Mac to update (but they do not), since I started using iCloud Music Library.

I eventually opened a support incident with Apple, and went through the trouble of sending out log files, etc. After all that--Apple simply stopped responding to me about it. I'm just--amazed.
