Internet speed not acceptable
Hi,
Shaw Cable is my internet provider.
They recently introduced an Internet 150 plan. I am supposed to get download speed of 150Mbps.
But when I run a Shaw Speed test, the result is only 8Mbps.
I have a 27 inch 5K iMac, 4GHz Core i7, with 32G ram and 3T hard drive running OSX 10.11.6 . My time capsule is 3T running 7.7.7
The Shaw speed test gave me a warning: my speed is too slow!!
I tried reboot, cmd/opt PR reboot.
I checked that none of my Apple TV, iPhones, iPads are running. I even turned off Dropbox and Time machine to avoid any background WiFi use.
I have tried to run with WiFi only; run with WiFi on and ethernet cable plugged into the iMac from the Shaw Modem box; and also run with the ethernet cable only having my time capsule turned off to have no wifi.
The best result was last night, at 25Mbps download and 16 upload.
Today, I was down to 8 download and 16 upload.
I wrote to Shaw Cable, they wrote back saying they check their end and everything is OK, meaning I am supposed to have 150 Mbps download.
What did I do wrong?
Please help.
Eddie
