Spam calendar and reminder notifications/ invites
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2
Same issue. Ray-Ban knock-off sunglasses with Chinese characters as the sender... also this screenshot. These are killing me, why can't we flag these addresses as spam? The temporary "JUNK" calendar worked... but that's a workaround, not a solution every time I receive these (which is about once a week, currently). They render my calendar invites workflow cumbersome at best, and useless/disabled at worst.
reach out to Apple Support
that's not funny.
It works, but it is not a long-term solution. Apple must give the possibility to block the sender(s)
Yes! Every Day the Same Sh...t! Anoying
I would NO LONGER recommend using the "Junk" calendar/trash it solution. I used to receive one spam invite per week; after trashing them yesterday, I've receive three in one day—which I attribute to the spammers having been notified when I trashed the "Junk" calendar.
This is terrible.
I would add to cyclingmartin's last step: choose "Delete and Don't Notify" when deleting the calendar.
Ideally, we should be able to delete invites without notifying the sender without putting them in a separate calendar. I get a few of these every day. Please, Apple, fix this. Even give us a way to block the sender, if possible.
Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
I don't have an option to "Delete and Don't Notify"—is this integral to OS newer than Yosemite, maybe?
If you create another calendar and call it, let's say 'Junk', move the spam invite(s) to that calendar, then when you delete that calendar, you will be presented with 2 options -- Delete and Notify or Delete and Don't Notify (this is the one you want to choose).
As suggested in this article -- https://9to5mac.com/2016/11/09/icloud-photo-sharing-and-calendar-spam/
Given the premium Apple charge for their brand and style (arguably over substance), it is preposterous to suggest a convoluted, time-consuming, spam-proliferating workaround.
Instead we should be forming consumer action groups to force Apple to address the problems they've created and abandoned us to.
I'm running Sierra, so possibly.
