Spam calendar and reminder notifications/ invites
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2
Try either of two things -- toggling Calendar on/off under your Settings > iCloud AND/OR signing out of your iCloud account and signing back in.
This is on my calendar too. Apple --- what's up?
You and a couple folks have been experiencing this from what I've seen on the forums for the past couple days. Consider this -- iCloud: Delete or hide an event
There is no way to delete the events because they are from an invitation. I haven't accepted or declined the invitation (I don't want to respond to a spammer in any way). Every time I try and delete them, it just shows the event invitation. There is no way to delete the invitation itself--the only choices are: accepting, declining, or saying maybe.
Then I'm not sure what else to suggest but to reach out to Apple Support -- Contact - Official Apple Support.
Good luck!
I have had this problem too. I haven't found a way to stop them but a previous answer explained how to get rid of those you have received.
1. Create a new iCloud calendar (Edit - Add Calendar). The original post called their's Junk.
2. Move the spam invite to this new Junk calendar.
3. Delete the newly created Junk calendar and the span invitation disappears.
Worked for me. Good luck.
I'm just here to add to your list.
Today I received two spam sunglasses event invitations on my iPad and I want it to stop. I never used the event invitation feature anyway. I want to disable it (or at least only allow it with my contacts).
This must be fixed immediately.
I just started getting these also, now I just got an iCloud Photo shared invite??
Try some of the suggestions provided in this similar themed thread -- Spam Calendar Invites
I've had exactly the same thing, from my email address/Apple ID!!
Thanks god - this worked!
I had spam ads for sunglasses in Chinese lettering show up on my calendar. I went to Settings : Mail, Contacts, Calendars - scrolled to the very bottom of Calendars and toggled off "Events Found in Mail". It states: "Turning this off will delete any unconfirmed event suggestions and prevent suggestions from appearing in the Calendar app."
Not sure if this is a solution, but I can't think it will hurt to leave that off. I also changed my Apple password.
The workaround is okay, but not a solution to stop spam!
