How to fix exclamation point by event in FCPX that won't let me render?

I am very frustrated with FCPX not communicating errors very well. I have been editing all day in FCPX, all files are in a Unique folder on my external hard drive that I imported before I started. It seems there are several video clips that will not render and I cannot force render. I cannot export my final edit now. What makes me MAD is there is not one window that pops up....no camera icons by files or any missing file warning.....why is FCPX like this? Why is it they don't make help windows to pop up and allow you to trouble shoot.

I have restarted my laptop as well...

Right now my only option is to sit here and pull my hair out... lol

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Hey Russ Thx for the reply....

It says everything is 100% rendered on my timeline and it playsback just fine....the orange lines (indicating they need to be rendered) are above my light leak video files on the timeline and a video file I downloaded from my vimeo....

when I get to file share > master file nothing comes up..it won't let me export...but doesn't indicate any files are missing or are being read from the camera/SD still ...

I stated that the files are not labeled as missing or offline or needing to be reimported....so why would I open a back up of the library? I know where the files are..

I start debugging every inexplicable and weird activity in FCPX by opening a backup. It's just what I do because that action provides me with information that allows me to dismiss many issues with certainty. It's easy and it's fast and it's helpful. For me. Your editing experience and media organizational skills are superior, so, no, you would not open a backup. Especially not to resolve a disk formatting issue; there's nothing in an FCPX backup that could possibly help you to find a disk formatting error. Properly formatting external drives is not something FCPX users just automatically know.

Thanks for returning to your thread and closing it with your solution, hardly anyone around here does that and it helps those who come after you with similar frustrations.
