Mac mini won't connect to Canon mg6620, worked fine with wireless but not wired connection, connected cable and reset printer, reinstalled software, but nothing works

Mac mini OS 10.11.6 El Capitan trying to connect to Canon mg6620 printer. Printer worked fine at my old home with wireless connection. After moving and connecting with wired connection computer refuses to recognize the printer. I have connected the USB cable, reset the printer settings and reinstalled the printer driver, but nothing works. The printer does not show up in the list of available printers to select from.
