iphone 6 acting possessed! Touchscreen problem??

My iPhone 6 is acting weird, like it is is possessed or something. apps are randomly opening or randomly calls getting dialed, safari opening and typing letters like 'hhhhggggggkkklgk..." and such. Music playing automatically. Ive done a hard reset several times, but nothing seems to work.

It is MASSIVELY annoying. Help please.

Hi Isabellpoppelbaum,

It looks like your iPhone 6 is not performing as you would expect, in fact, it seems to be performing things on it's own! If a hard reset did not resolve the problem, try backing up your device then restoring it from the backup.

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

These steps should resolve the issues that you are currently experiencing with your iPhone 6. Thanks for using Apple Communities to post your concerns. Have a great day.

Hi Chris,

have tried that multiple times now and it doesn't help. Sometimes it works again for an hour or so, but then it turns crazy again, up to a point where right now I can't even make a call - touchscreen totally unresponsive, and occasionally decides (by itself!!) to open contacts, and call random people in my phonebook. This is massively debilitating and I am thinking this must be a hardware flaw. I see that other users have the same problem. What is Apple doing to address what seems like a systemic failure for iphone 6?

Thanks for trying the backup and restore process. Before we have it evaluated for hardware issues, please try restoring the device to factory settings one more time then setting it up as a brand new device without restoring the backup. You can use the previous iCloud Apple id to sync your contacts and calendar information.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

If the device performs the same as it did previous to setting it up as new, use the link below to learn the best options for having the device serviced.
