Hello AKPitts!

Thanks for reaching out and using the Apple Support Communities! We see from your forum post that you are no able to use the Verizon network after updating to iOS 10. We definitely understand how seriously important it is to stay connected with your iPhone so that you can make calls, send message and everything else you need to do with your iPhone.

Take a look at this article called If you can‘t connect to a cellular network or cellular data and try all the steps that are listed.

HI Bryan,

Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately the reset suggestion, turning the phone off and on, etc. didn't resolve the problem. Note that both texting and retrieving voice messages work fine...I just cannot use the phone to initiate or answer calls. My husband's phone - which is the same as mine - still works fine, but he has not upgraded to 10.0.2. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Hi,

We visited the Verizon store...there isn't any problem with the carrier. My husband's phone, which is on version 9.1, works fine. The ability to make or receive a phone call immediately stopped when I upgraded to version 10.0.2. Is there a way to back-out of version 10.0.2 without resetting to factory settings and losing everything? I am trying to avoid buying a new phone. :-)

My phone mysteriously stopped being able to make calls (no signal dots lit up) weeks after doing the latest IOS10 patch 10.1.1. I got a new SIM at the Verizon store upon recommendation of Verizon on-line support. They blamed it on IOS10 and that they see this problem every day. They had no other advice besides upgrading to a new phone. Then after reading and trying the fix listed here (turning Data Roaming OFF) my phone now works fine. I find it very disturbing that if Verizon sees it every day they don't know of this fix.
