How to stop Java command line tool popping up in mac with Sierra installed

I updated to Sierra from El Capitan. After that I get a Java command line tool popping up randomly.I repeatedly installed what it asked me to do but this does not solve the problem. I have learnt that Safari has disabled Java, as its a security risk. What should I do? I am fairly experienced with Macs but I am not confident to use Terminal etc. as I don't want to cripple my mac accidentally.

macOS Sierra (10.12)

The reason that popup occurs is because you have software installed which wants to use Java--it has nothing to do with Safari disabling it. Every upgrade will remove Apple's Legacy Java 6 from your Mac as it is unsupported and out of date.

I understand that Adobe's software and some Facebook video chat program uses Java and both are poorly coded to only use Apple's Legacy Java 6. The only way to stop the popup is to uninstall the programs that require Java, or install Apple's Legacy Java 6: Download Java for OS X 2015-001

The popup appears when the App asks to use Java. macOS then asks if you would like to install Java. That More Info link assumes the apps were correctly written and points you to Oracle's current Java releases. However, those may not work as the applications asking to use Java were either poorly written or require a 32-bit Java. The current Oracle versions are not 32-bit.
