Softraid vs Sierra built in raid support

I have an OWC raid with 4 drives. I did a clean install of sierra. Can I use the build in Raid or do I need to install and use the Softraid? Is there a benefit of the Softraid App?

Thanks

I'm a long time SoftRaid happy user. I'm not sure but with Mac OS Sierra you can just do RAID 1 or 0 (mirrored or stripped). This is a limit. If you want a RAID 1+0 (but I suggest a better "5" with 4 disks) then SR is needed.

Then, regardless Sierra's limits or the fact that for RAIDs different than 1 or 0 (1+0, 4, 5) SR is needed, I believe it's a very good product with tons of options and check-functions for safety. Also, the company's policy in terms of upgrades and maintainance is very good. Go for SoftRaid if your budget can (for 1 or 0 it cost just a few bucks)
