My battery is draining fast after Sierra OS update.
My battery is draining very fast after updating to OS Sierra. Also the MacBook Pro is heating up a lot. This never happened before.

I had this too - battery drain very fast (in 2 hours) and very very hot. Chatted on line to Mac and booked a telephone call - both failed to resolve - in fact the latter said I needed a new battery (only 587 counts) - so did some research myself - eventually tried a virus scan - I have Bitdefenfer - ran a deep scan (30 mins) It cleaned a lot of stuff but listed 9 areas that I needed to delete myself from Finder (it listed them) it was very easy. Now I have a good battery life back (11 hours) and a cold machine 🙂 Hope it works for you....
Is this still happening after a System Management Controller (power management) re-set?

Third party 'cleanmymac' and other flaky utilities can damage the system & make for bad issues.
Out-dated and irrelevant applications or utilities, also can slow the system. An Etrecheck report
may be helpful for others who see it, to offer suggestions. It can also be used to remove adware.
Hard to say what may be the background and history of the system. You could try the Etrecheck
app to see what the report it can generate says about the basics. Odd apps & adware can show.
