Make sure your network settings are perfect ,Google DNS settings as : 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 , location as automatic ( if you are not moving the system to other place ) , remember networks this computer has joined , WPA2 AES , all proxies must be unchecked .

Sometimes , due to sudden drop in wi - fi network is observed , to resolve it go to system preferences > network click on TCP/IP > again click on renew DHCP lease .

Regarding , notes or calendars , contacts are not syncing .

Open notes & its preferences ( can use command + comma to open application preferences ) , check the box of enable the on my Mac account .

You can notice if there is a server issue or server is down the rotating circle will be continue for hours , I have cross checked by opening IMAP mail account > window > connection doctor .

I have called the service provider on phone , so they say that server is down , or sometimes observed a slight cut in wires can create the problems .

And don't use any third party software , anti virus in the system .

In system preferences > iCloud > the box of back to my Mac should be always unchecked , and rest of all options should be checked .

Important: Be sure to use the same Apple ID for iCloud on all your devices. That way, they all have access to the same photos, desktop and documents files, mail, contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, and other documents and data stored in iCloud.

An article : macOS Sierra: Set up iCloud on your Mac

Do not , change any read and write permissions in your home folder , shared folder , guest .

in system preferences > date & time > no changes must be done . macOS Sierra: Set the date and time on your Mac

click on go to go folder & type ~/Library and follow this path , right click on the notes plist and move to the trash , restart & empty the trash .

Hi LDoza45,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community! I understand you're having some trouble with your notes and photos after updating. I can understand how this can be an inconvenience as I use notes daily, and like to make sure my pictures are safely stored on my Mac. I'm happy to help.

Are you using iCloud or an email account to sync your notes? You can confirm this on your iPhone in Settings > Notes > Accounts. If your notes are being synced through iCloud. You can log in to the iCloud website and see if your notes are showing there. On your Mac, you can open up the Notes app, then click on Notes on the menu bar and click Accounts. Then select iCloud and make sure Notes is turned on. You'll need to be signed in to the same iCloud account on both your Mac and iPhone for the notes to sync. If you're using an email account to sync notes instead of iCloud, you'll want to make sure that the notes are turned on for that account in Notes > Accounts on your Mac.

For help with importing your photos to your Mac, I recommend to take a look here: Photos for Mac: Import photos from a camera or mobile device

Take care.

Hello There,

I have tried all the steps above. I am running all up-to-date updates. If i enter a note on icloud.com, that note will appear on all my devices. IF I input a new note on any other device on iPhone, i will see it update on iCloud, but not iPad or MacBook notes app. And if i place a not on iPad or MacBook notes app, nothing updates (neither icloud or iPhone). I have tried deleting the account and re-logging in. I contacted Support and they ran out of things to try. I'm sure that I'm doing something wrong, but no one can figure it out.

Hi,

actually, i have the same issue (and indeed, I see the small rotating circle on every device using Notes). When I make changes in Notes on the iCloud webpage, all changes get sync to the devices, but when I change a note on my Mac or iPhone, it will not sync to iCloud. So I think it's a server problem, because I tried all other steps and the note sync problem is still the same. All the other iCloud programs seems to work fine.

So is there any solution or things we can try to reset te server, because there're more people with the same issue?

Hi,

thanks for your answer. I'll try these steps and let you know if it worked. The strange thing is that the server works (when I Check Mail > connection doctor: everything is connected), but I see the rotation circle all day only in the Notes application on iPhone and 2 Macs (and any other device i try). Changes on the iCloud webpage itself, sync correctly to the devices.
