Bluetooth Connectivity Issues Apple Watch Series 2

I am having an issue with my new Apple Watch Series 2 when it comes to bluetooth connectivity. I have had the watch for about a week now and I have noticed that at random times the watch will show the red disconnected icon at the top of the screen (red iPhone with a dash through it). This isn't from me being too far away from my iPhone because it is sitting right next to me. I seem to be able to fix it by simply waking up my iPhone and unlocking it. When I unlock the phone I notice the bluetooth icon flashing, seemingly reconnecting with the watch. Is there a reason my bluetooth keeps randomly turning itself off? I am using a brand new iPhone SE and 42mm Apple Watch Series 2 Aluminum. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi

That is not the expected behaviour.

The following steps may help:

Restart both your iPhone and your watch, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first:

Unpair and re-pair your watch:

If the issue then persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support for assistance, taking advantage of your 90 days of complimentary technical support cover:
