Blank subject line when replying to e-mail

I use Apple Mail 10.0 (3226) on several Macs, with OS Sierra installed on all of them, and as of late a strange problem has begun occurring. In some cases, when I reply to an e-mail using the reply function, the subject line turns out empty, even though a subject was included in the original e-mail that I'm replying to. Before, the subject was always repeated, after "Re:". I have not been able to clarify why the subject sometimes appears and sometimes not. Any tip on how to fix this annoying problem (which means I have to copy the subject and paste it manually)?

I just got a new 27" iMac. This is my first experience with Sierra and Mac Mail is driving me nuts. Blank subject lines when replying, missing signatures, not grouping my emails together like it used to... I've tried rebuilding the mailbox, I've tried restarting, but like the above poster said, as soon as new mail arrives the problem returns. I can live with the other two, but blank subject lines is making me awfully cranky.

Please fix this, Apple. The rest of Sierra is wonderful.
