Can't connect to App Store in Taiwan

Hello,

I moved to Taiwan last month and since then I haven't been able neither to download new nor update my current apps. Every time I try to log in to App Store it will just say "can't connect". And even though it says I have over a dozen updates to do, I won't be able to go in to the "update" section of App Store due to the connectivity issue.

I can't connect to the Taiwanese App Store because I do not have a Taiwanese credit or bank card. I will open a bank account in Taiwan, but can only do so after all my applications for working permit and residential visa is finished, which will take at least three more weeks. And before that I can't switch my App Store to Taiwan because I do not have a legit payment option for Taiwan.

Well this is strange since my international MasterCard issued by my Swedish bank worked as a legit payment option in both China and Hong Kong. Two weeks ago when I was in Hong Kong I was able to update all my apps even though I used the Swedish App Store with my Swedish MasterCard. But in Taiwan I can't use the Swedish App Store or switch to the Taiwanese one.

My question: Do I really have to go to Hong Kong every time I want to update my apps? Or is there any other way to do so in Taiwan without a Taiwanese bank?

The problem persists on my Macbook, iPhone and iPad alike.

Best,
