Oct 21, 2016 7:09 AM in response to jozef_iphone_7_plusby Michael Black,Any camera pointed towards a very bright light source will be prone to lens flare. It is particularly common on very small lens digital cameras. Its not a bug or an error - it is a simply phenomenon of physics and the limitations of a lens with intense direct light input (http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/lens-flare.htm).
One way, sometimes, to get rid of it is use one cupped had around the lens as a temporary cover or hood to reduce the side incident light hitting the lens (this is in fact why large DSLR lenses and spotting telescopes come with a hood, to reduce lens flare).

Oct 21, 2016 12:51 PM in response to Michael Blackby jozef_iphone_7_plus,Michael, thank you for an answer. Looking at your point situation, does it mean you are an expert or experieneed in the field?
I do not believe what you are saying. I have been taking photos all my life And never came across anything like that. i still own an iPhone 4, 5c, 6 and there isn't "lens flare" while taking pictures towards a very bright light. This has a weird shape for a lens flare, don't you think? Lines, circles, rounded corners.
I paid $1500 for this phone, it's not good enough.

Oct 21, 2016 2:32 PM in response to jozef_iphone_7_plusby Michael Black,I too have been taking pictures my whole life, or well at least the last 40+ odd years if it. What you show in your shots looks indeed like classic lens flare. If I point any camera I have ever owned, from point and shoot film and digital to SLR and DSLR setups, at any bright light at the right angle to that light, I can reproduce that sort of effect, no problem. Some goes for any previous iphone I've owned when shooting into sunlight or other strong light sources. The price of the device has nothing whatsoever to do with the physics of light and lenses.
If you feel it is a defect if some kind, then you need to make an appointment with Apple and ask them about it. You posted screen shots and asked for people's interpretation of what you showed. I stand by my take on what you show in those pictures. If you wish an actual evaluation of your device by Apple, then you need to take it into Apple.

Oct 22, 2016 12:33 AM in response to Michael Blackby jozef_iphone_7_plus,Michael, for me the price is important. I think it's important for everyone. You decide to buy expensive product, you expect good quality. (I am a huge Apple fan btw)
Is this a lens flare? If yes, it's extremely visible then. I think it's a hardware error. I have never come across this type of picture distortion.
I have to fix every single photo, would you keep such device for your self? Be honest please. The camera should be the iPhones best feature. I don't think people will like it. http://blog.fguy.com/2016/09/iphone-7-camera-green-reflection-problem.html
Another example for you..
