Received random spam Calendar invitation

Hello,

Today I suddenly received a spam Calendar invitation from an icloud.com account. The content of this invitation is for $19.99 ray ban sunglasses (clearly spam) and it has other visible email accounts within the invitation. I'm wondering if i should be worried about this? Has any of my accounts been compromised for this to happen? Do they have access to my iCloud account to be able to do this or is it as simple as they have my email and sent out an invitation like a spam email?

I would like some advice about this, what should I do etc. I tried to search this problem but couldn't really find anything.

Thanks

Apple needs to put a "delete without reply" option back in on phone.

The work-around that worked for me is to move the invite to a new empty calendar on the icloud website, then delete that calendar.

I received this same invitation. Apple Support told me it was a Hotmail problem until I pointed out that the invitation did not appear in my Outlook.com email just iCloud. I received a ticket number but then went to iCloud.com via my desktop computer using a web browser where I could right click on the invitation and delete it. I requested that the Apple Rep forward this issue to Apple security as it is an issue. I also deselected iCloud on my iPad and turned off the iCloud settings for Calendar, email, etc.

Fortunately I have an alternate means of saving that important information until Apple has a resolution. Hope that helps.

I received the same spam email invitation. There's a thread about this in the iPhone section too, and one of the commenters suggested Apple add some blocking features to iCal. I hope they do. In the meantime, I've edited my calendar preferences so I get event invitations as email (and can rely on Hotmail and Thunderbird to mark them as junk for me) rather than receiving them as in-app invitations.

I have received this same spam invitation on three separate occasions from three separate email accounts. WHY am I getting SPAM events added to my calendar? There doesn't seem to be an email that correlates with this in either my inbox or my spam folder. It's not something I signed up for, searched for, or browsed to. Why is a stranger able to effectively post to my calendar? Apple. Fix it.
