AirPrint won't work with Epson Printer after Sierra upgrade on MacBook Pro
I upgraded to Sierra and now my Epson WorkForce 845 printer won't work on AirPrint. What can I do to resolve this problem? There are no updates for my driver or AirPrint available at App store
I contacted Epson and they were very helpful with troubleshooting but none of it worked. I have the latest drivers. I did uninstall and reinstall printer and I am able to print using USB connection. But ever since the Sierra upgrade I cannot print over the air using AirPrint. In fact the computer cannot even find the printer.
Here's what I did after uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software. Note that I have the printer on USB now and was attempting to add it using Bonjour so I could print over the air:
1. I tried to add the printer “bonjour multifunction” using AirPrint and got this error message: Unable to verify the printer on your network: Unable to connect to ‘EPSON WorkForce 845._ipp._tcp.local.’ due to an error. Would you still like to create the printer?
2. I said yes – and computer tried to set up but I got “An error occurred while trying to add the seleted device. Unable to communication with the printer at this time.”
3. I tried add the printer “bonjour multifunction” using the Epson 850 series software option. It added the printer but said the printer is offline.
4. I tried to print over AirPrint even though it said printer is online and it wouldn’t work. I got a “filter failed” error.
5. I opened Printer Utility and it said there was a communication error.
6. I tried to open the printer web page but got "the server at epsonbbabb2.local. is taking too long to respond" error message.
did see that Canon has put out a message saying there is a problem with printing under Sierra and they are working with Apple to resolve it but i've not see anything from Epson on that.
Does anyone have a solution to this? Is anyone else having the problem with Epson?
