Adobe Flash Player shows as out of date?

Adobe flash player is downloaded only from genuine adobe site from the internet , in your screen shot the small circle allow adobe to install updates ( recommended ) is already checked by default that is correct , can click on the first option check now .

Thanks..... I am there too... lots of advices to avoid Flash etc but if you have it from Adobe direct the install page you show has an Advanced Tab! What the H--- does it mean/threaten?

"Delete all local storage...etc" sounds very unwise or is it supposed to be saying '...all local storage in use by Flash Player?

I go to and fro between removing all Adobe apps and Flash etc, but advice seems to be very inconsistent too... except for from Adobe ;-)

If the info that Adobe is seen as a Malware 'route in'... we should all trash and avoid, shouldn't we?

If you download the uninstaller from the official Adobe website you should be fine.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

That "normal" content is in Flash file format. So, it requires the Flash player. Fewer and fewer websites are using that format but, for the ones that do, you either have to have the player installed or not watch the video.

A number of security experts recommend that you remove it from your system, and do not visit websites that still use it. There are alternatives to it, and it is only laziness on the part of sites that still support it. Note that Youtube banned it over a year ago. And I will not do business with any site that requires it. Fitbit, for example.

Another safe way of downloading and installing flash player is to do so through System Preferences/Flash Player/Updates.
