Windows 10 BootCamp/Driver Issues
So after not using Windows 10 patrician for a few months I switch over and discover my keyboard does not work and the trackpad does. When I try to use a key, the speakers register a noise but nothing happens. I went into the "Connected Devices" screen and found that under "Apple Internal Keyboard/Trackpad" there was a "Driver error." My BootCamp console is 4.0 and I took the steps to update this (downloaded to a USB the updated drivers from MAC OS) and went to repair/update. While using the Setup progam, I encounter various problems. First, after agreeing to the Lcense Agreement and clicking Next, the install gets hung up twice. First I get the pop up "Windows installer has stopped working" and I click "Close Program" (which I have seen several other people try) and the program continues to run. Next I get a pop-up which is blank and has a title "Error", which after I click OK the installation of Boot Camp says it is complete and I need to restart. However, I restart and nothing has been fixed/updated/repaired and I am still showing Boot Camp Version 4.0. I have tried going into the Driver folder and just running the AppleKeyboardInstaller64 and AppleMultiTouchTrackPadInstaller64 but neither have fixed the problem. Finally, I have tried running the Program Compatability Troubleshooter and found that it states the installer is a "Incompatible Program".
I can't post screenshots (no keyboard functionality) but have tried to be as descriptive as I can. Anyone have any ideas on how I can fix my keyboard? Also, suggestions on my upgrade from BootCamp 4.0 to 6.0 would be appreciated as well.
