For those of you who go phone commando, how is the experience? I am trying going out with my 7 case-less, and it feels pretty good so far, even with the extra little bit of slip, I just wonder how the screen and especially the camera will hold up over time.

I'm sorta going case less. I have a 3D edge to edge screen protector on the front and ordered a Wally stick-on wallet by Distill Union that covers the back. I love the Wally and will never go back to carrying a traditional wallet.
As for the front, I would never go without a screen protector. After the first two weeks without one I started to see micro scratches on the screen.
I find this setup the perfect balance between minimal protection and preserving the esthetics of the Jet Black iPhone.
Even I don't use a case but I have applied full body protector from the Gadgetshieldz. They opt to give some grip and deep scratch protection to the iPhone.

Going caseless is ok if you can afford to buy another iPhone if dropped
All my apple devices are kept in double sided leather case from day one
They are unmarked when i upgrade & sell i get top price.
