10.12.1 - problems after update

Hello, I just updated from 10.12 to 10.12.1.

Never before was an OS update such a catastrophe!

(BTW I updated because I was hoping the Mail attachment bug was fixed.)

Many apps which are running in the menu bar, are no longer displayed!

To be able to access them I have to close them via Activity Monitor

and then start them again. This happens always after restarting.

System Preferences no longer loads -> listed as Force Quit Application.

Preview no longer loads -> listed as Force Quit Application.

I stopped trying out more... Who knows how to fix this?

Else I could only restore my Time Machine backup (with 10.12.0), which would take at least 8 hours.

(I have a USB drive with a 10.12.0 installer too, but it doesn't allow to "downgrade"!)

I think the problem with the non-appearing menu bar apps is just a special case of the big problem here.

When menu bar apps get started by the system (remembered via apps' settings) for the first time after restarting, there are no dock icons which could show their endless bouncing, and there is no listing in the force-quit menu, but their processes had been started and are running, waiting to be quitted (via Activity Monitor) and re-started just the same way as the other problematic apps.

I just tried to do the SMC reset, sadly I'm still having the same issues.

Is there any way know if the SMC was actually reset? For the iMac I simply had to unplug the power cable and wait for a few seconds, then turn it back on. It may have reset the SMC, but as I said, the problem persists.

PRAM reset also didn't work. 😟
